About the Golden Boob Award
The Golden Boob Award highlights the biggest boobs of all - the organizations that are using breast cancer purely as a way to make money or to promote an ideology. This dubious honor calls attention to efforts that undermine the fight to stop breast cancer.
This year's nominees waste valuable time, money and energy. They spread false information and call it science and sell useless products to women trying to do what they can to avoid breast cancer.
The National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund is working to stop breast cancer by training advocates to lead the fight for increased federal funding for breast cancer research and legislation to study the impact of environmental factors on breast cancer. We analyze breast cancer research studies and media reports to cut through the rhetoric and provide unbiased information. Because frivolous and futile efforts actually undermine this critical mission, we want to expose them and re-focus the public on action that will lead to positive impacts on the political, scientific and health care issues that affect women and their families.
